Our Family

From nursing school, to Army wife, to celebrated baker. From northeastern South America, to the senior ranks of the US Army. This is our story:

It begins with a chance meeting in 2000, which led to our wedding just 66 days later! So, maybe we’ve always believed in love (and marriage). We believe God designed marriage to be special and sacred, and we are so blessed to be part of your story with our venue. We have always believed in doing and not just talking or dreaming. So, we began our venture in milestone-celebration by building Darla’s Cakery; a custom cake shop that offers amazing cakes to clients.

After people began to order cakes and recommend Darla, we decided to build a store front, so more people could enjoy. Also we wanted a place for people to gather. During the process, we got “no” from three banks until one said “yes” to support us building Darla’s Cakery. We bought 3.7 acres and built it from the ground up. Part of our plan was to build a wedding chapel, but we were still deciding on the right timing.

As God would have it, our sister-in-law pointed us to the MLS listing for “The Hitchin’ Post”. This time we only received one “no” before we received a “yes” from a local bank! So here we are . . .
